Crochet Hair Bow

I wear buns. A lot.  And sometimes I like to dress them up a bit with some home-made bows.  They may make the bun look more dorky/preppy, but I like ’em.

Materials:

Small amount of yarn (I had some variegated baby weight laying around)

Size G (4.25mm) crochet hook

Yarn needle

Instructions:
Main:

Chain 14,

row 1: First double crochet in second stitch from hook, double crochet row,

rows 2-4: ch. 2, double crochet all rows

Leave long tail for stitching the bow into shape

Bow tie:

Chain 12,

First double crochet in second stitch from hook, double crochet row

Cinch bow in center, use long yarn tail to stitch into place.  Add bow tie and stitch into place.  Weave in ends.

Use a bobby pin to attach to hair, or attach hair elastic before sewing on the bow tie.
